Step-by-step
- Sign in at app.dantelabs.com.
- Open your sample → Reports & downloads.
- Look for the Genotype file (sometimes labelled 23andMe-compatible genotype or SNP TXT).
- Download — it's a
.txtof ~15 MB.
What about the VCF / BAM / FASTQ files?
Dante also exposes the full VCF (millions of variants), BAM (aligned reads) and FASTQ (raw reads). Whale DNA only needs the genotype TXT — uploading the multi-GB raw files isn't useful for our pipeline and risks hitting your browser's upload limit.
Heads-up
- Dante's coverage is whole-genome, so the SNP file has more positions than a 23andMe chip — that's fine, we use the curated subset.
- If the genotype TXT isn't visible, contact Dante support — they can generate one on request.
Privacy reminder
WGS data is even more sensitive than chip-genotype because it's near-complete. We process in-memory only, delete originals within 24 hours, never persist anything beyond your derived report.
