Export your Dante Labs data

Dante Labs offers whole-genome sequencing (WGS). For Whale DNA, the genotype TXT export is what we need — same shape as 23andMe.

Step-by-step

  1. Sign in at app.dantelabs.com.
  2. Open your sample → Reports & downloads.
  3. Look for the Genotype file (sometimes labelled 23andMe-compatible genotype or SNP TXT).
  4. Download — it's a .txt of ~15 MB.

What about the VCF / BAM / FASTQ files?

Dante also exposes the full VCF (millions of variants), BAM (aligned reads) and FASTQ (raw reads). Whale DNA only needs the genotype TXT — uploading the multi-GB raw files isn't useful for our pipeline and risks hitting your browser's upload limit.

Heads-up

  • Dante's coverage is whole-genome, so the SNP file has more positions than a 23andMe chip — that's fine, we use the curated subset.
  • If the genotype TXT isn't visible, contact Dante support — they can generate one on request.

Privacy reminder

WGS data is even more sensitive than chip-genotype because it's near-complete. We process in-memory only, delete originals within 24 hours, never persist anything beyond your derived report.
