Export your MyHeritage raw data

MyHeritage exports a standard tab-separated genotype file. Whale DNA reads it identically to 23andMe and AncestryDNA.

Step-by-step

  1. Sign in at myheritage.com/dna.
  2. From the DNA menu choose Manage DNA kits.
  3. Find your kit → three-dot menu (⋮) → Download raw data.
  4. Read the consent screen and check the box → Continue.
  5. MyHeritage sends a confirmation email — open it and click the confirmation link.
  6. A second email follows shortly with the actual download link.
  7. Save the .zip file (about 6 MB) — keep it private.

What's in the file?

The .zip contains a CSV named MyHeritage_raw_dna_data.csv with ~700,000 SNPs in rsid · chromosome · position · result format. We accept either the.zip or extracted .csv directly.

Heads-up

  • The two-email confirmation is intentional — protects against unauthorized export.
  • If the second email never arrives, check Promotions / Spam and add noreply@myheritage.com to contacts.
  • The export link expires — re-request from the same menu if needed.

Privacy reminder

Same posture as the other genome uploads: in-memory processing on EU servers, raw originals deleted within 24 hours by S3 lifecycle.
