Export your Samsung Health data

Samsung Health (paired with Galaxy Watch or Fit) exports a multi-CSV bundle covering sleep, HRV, heart rate, steps, stress.

Step-by-step (Samsung Health app)

  1. Open the Samsung Health app on your Galaxy phone.
  2. Tap the hamburger menu (≡) → Settings.
  3. Scroll to Personal dataDownload personal data.
  4. Choose the date range — minimum 30 days for a useful trend.
  5. Tap Download. The app prepares a .zip in your phone's Documents/Samsung Health folder.
  6. Transfer the .zip to your computer (USB, Quick Share, or upload to Drive then download).

What's in the file?

Dozens of CSVs inside the .zip. The most useful for Whale DNA:com.samsung.shealth.sleep_*.csv (sleep stages),com.samsung.shealth.heart_rate.csv (HR samples),com.samsung.health.exercise.csv (workouts),com.samsung.shealth.stress.csv (continuous stress scores). Upload the whole .zip — we pick what's needed.

Heads-up

  • Samsung's HRV is only logged during sleep — make sure you wear the watch overnight for meaningful data.
  • If you have a Galaxy Watch 4 or newer, BIA body composition is included; we currently don't use it but it's stored in the same zip.
  • Some columns use Korean labels even in English-locale exports — our parser tolerates this.

Privacy reminder

Standard posture: in-memory, EU servers, deleted within 24 hours. Samsung Cloud retains your data on Samsung's infrastructure — that's separate from us.
